Cookies Policy
Effective date: 1st September 2025
Last updated: 10th September 2025
Turehub (“Turehub”, “we”, “us”, “our”) uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies on our websites and web/mobile applications (the “Services”). This Policy explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your choices.
We intentionally keep cookies to a minimum. Most features run without advertising cookies or invasive tracking. Where non-essential cookies are used, we seek consent (where required) and provide controls to manage your preferences.
1) What are cookies & similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They’re widely used to make sites work, keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure performance.
LocalStorage / SessionStorage are browser storage mechanisms functioning like persistent or session-only key/value stores.
Web beacons / pixels are tiny images or code that help measure engagement.
SDKs / device identifiers can be used in mobile apps for similar purposes.
This Policy refers to all of the above collectively as “cookies”.
2) Who sets cookies?
First-party cookies are set by Turehub.
Third-party cookies are set by other domains (for example, analytics providers) when integrated. By default, Turehub does not load marketing or advertising cookies.
3) Why we use cookies (purpose categories)
We group cookies as follows:
Strictly Necessary (Essential) – required for the Services to function (e.g., sign-in, security, load-balancing).
Functional – remember choices (e.g., language, UI layout, last used workspace).
Performance/Analytics (Optional) – help us understand usage and improve reliability (aggregate stats only).
Marketing/Advertising (Optional) – not used by default. If ever introduced (e.g., retargeting on our marketing site), they would be disabled until you opt-in.
4) The cookies and storage we typically use
Because we keep cookies minimal, the list is short. Names may vary by environment (production vs. beta) and subdomain.
Name | Type | Purpose | Typical Duration |
---|---|---|---|
turehub_session | Essential (cookie) | Maintains your authenticated session after login (HTTP-only). | Session or up to 24 hours |
turehub_csrf | Essential (cookie) | CSRF protection for secure form/API requests. | Session |
turehub_locale | Functional (cookie or localStorage) | Saves language/locale preference. | 6–12 months |
turehub_consent | Essential (cookie) | Records your cookie preferences (so we don’t re-ask). | 6–12 months |
ps_active_org / ps_active_project | Functional (localStorage) | Remembers your last selected company/workspace. | Until cleared |
ui_prefs | Functional (localStorage) | Stores interface preferences (e.g., sidebars, theme). | Until cleared |
th_analytics_optin | Preference (cookie) | Records whether you opted into analytics cookies. | 6–12 months |
analytics_* | Performance (cookie) | Only set if you opt-in. Used to generate aggregate usage metrics. | 1–12 months |
No 3rd-party ads. We do not run third-party advertising pixels by default. If you encounter a cookie not listed here, it may come from an optional integration (see §8).
5) Legal bases & consent
In the EU/UK/EEA and jurisdictions with similar rules, we rely on consent for non-essential cookies and legitimate interest/contract for essential ones.
In Kenya, we comply with the Kenya Data Protection Act by using only necessary cookies by default and honoring your choices for optional ones.
In California (CCPA/CPRA), cookie information may be considered personal information. We do not sell personal information.
Our cookie banner and in-product preferences let you accept, reject, or customize optional cookies at any time.
6) Managing your choices
You have several options:
A) Turehub cookie controls
Use the cookie banner on first visit or Cookie Settings in the site footer/app profile to update your preferences.
B) Browser settings
Block or delete cookies in your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, etc.). Blocking essential cookies may break sign-in or some features.
C) Do Not Track (DNT) & Global Privacy Control (GPC)
If your browser sends GPC, we treat it as an opt-out from optional tracking where legally required/feasible. DNT is not universally honored but we strive to respect your preferences.
D) Mobile apps
Use OS-level controls (iOS/Android) to limit tracking or reset advertising IDs. Our apps do not enable ad tracking by default.
7) How we use analytics (if you opt-in)
If you opt-in to analytics:
We record aggregated usage (e.g., pages viewed, feature adoption, load times) to improve reliability and UX.
We do not build personal advertising profiles or sell data.
IP addresses may be truncated or anonymized where supported.
You can withdraw consent at any time in Cookie Settings.
8) Cookies from integrations & embeds
Turehub lets customers connect third-party services (e.g., WhatsApp Business API partners, carriers, payment processors, calendar or email providers, dashboards).
These services may place their own cookies when you visit connected pages or use embedded widgets.
Such cookies are governed by the third party’s privacy/cookie policies.
We aim to prevent those from loading until functionally needed and, if non-essential, until you consent.
9) Retention & expiry
Essential cookies typically last for the session or a short fixed time.
Preference and consent cookies may last up to 12 months so we remember your choices.
LocalStorage has no fixed expiry and remains until cleared by you or the app.
10) Security
We use secure cookie attributes where appropriate (e.g., Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite), and access controls to protect localStorage reads. Still, avoid using shared/public computers for sensitive work.
11) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes to our cookies or legal requirements. We’ll post the new Policy with an updated date and, where required, refresh the consent banner.
